Dinosaur Eyelids - (2012) Conflagration

Dinosaur Eyelids is alternative rock for a new generation. Based in New Brunswick, NJ "The Lids" have earned a reputation for their incendiary live performances. The band released their highly-anticipated third album "Conflagration" on October 23rd, 2012. It has received airplay on 199 radio stations across North America. They have played over 70 shows throughout the Northeast and are house favorites at The Court Tavern in New Brunswick. Other frequent shows include The Stone Pony (Astbury Park, NJ), and John & Peter's (Philadelphia), Fontana's (NYC), Bar East (NYC), Arlene's Grocery (NYC). The Lids have opened for Parlor Mob and shared the stage with Dean Ween of Ween. Their debut album "Winter Solstice" was released in December 2009. Their second album "Down a River" was released in January 2011 and played nationwide on 170 radio stations. Musical influences include Soundgarden, Wilco and The Replacements. -BIO-

I've been a fan... of sorts... of this band since their debut, and have heard all three releases now. As they have been put forth to the public. They seem to grow as musicians on each trip to the studio. Giving birth to  a nice and tidy slab of rock. "Conflagration", which according to Wikipedia is an uncontrolled burning that threatens human life, animal life, health, or property. Seems like a fitting title for this album. It border's on complete chaos, and at the same time retains an almost tranquil and melancholy vibe throughout. I think "Conflagration" will and should light some fires under many Rock 'n Roll addicts.

Available from all the usual sources. On compact disc or digital download from CDbabyAmazon or iTunes.     _ADAM W_
