Entrancing like an opium vertigo, hard and dark like ebony but velvet like a geisha’s silken panties, THE BUFFALOS illegally distill music for doomed pirates, and freedom addicted basterdz.
After years of roving around the world from Thailand’s old opium dens through the heated bordellos of East Africa to the desperate yet divine landscape of Antarctica, The Duke, El Bavo, Lorenzo and The Breton decided to transcribe into music what it is like to live like a pirate (according to their own convenient definition). This is how the infamous adventure of THE BUFFALOS started in 2008. The infernal crew defended its first two EP (In Hell We Dwell – 2009 / The Mahogany Secrecy 2011) on more than fifty gigs, opening for legendary bands such as SUICIDAL TENDENCIES.
Today THE BUFFALOS are proud to present their debut album FULL OF SILENCE AND FURY on 30HD RECORDS ! It was recorded and mixed by Sylvain Biguet (KLONE, COMITY, TREPALIUM) and mastered by Alan Douches (MASTODON, EVERY TIME I DIE, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN).
Well it's Friday, which means its time to kick back, enjoy a frosty beverage and listen to some new music. Tonight's album will be the new offering from French band The Buffalos. I'm not a novice to this band, having been privy to their last release "The Mahogany Secrecy" and being hooked by the modern production values and the appreciation for vintage gear. Sounding like System of a Down's Serj Tankian fronting late era Metallica, or some such thing.
After having released two EP's we finally get a full length album from the Buffalo's, twelve tracks of pure sonic ear-raping metal 'n' roll, they haven't strayed much from the formula, still delivering muscular riffs and thunderous grooves along with pissed off vocals about pirates, demons and the shitty state of the world we live in. Too metal to be punk, too fast to be stoner, too heavy to be on the mainstream. Too awesome to not be heard.
