Jumping Jack - (2011) Trucks & Bones

I first got turned onto these guys when they sent me their first ep "Cows and Whisky" a couple years ago, which I reviewed here. I knew that these guys could be something special, that they had that certain something that everyone into heavy music could appreciate. And was eager to hear what they would come up with next. Fast-forward and "Trucks & Bones" is here.

Having elements of 80's metal like Motley Crue, Kiss and Skid Row. Without the cheese factor that often pigeon-holed those bands. Not to say "Trucks & Bones" sounds dated, it's just showing it's roots a little. They take the 80's thing and mash it up with grunge and even some thrashy double bass drums. Jumping Jack's debut is a great step in the right direction for the band, full of memorable hooks and soulful melodies that are both inspiring and accessible to everyone into not only metal, but rock fans of every genre. I'm definitely not disappointed. Pickup Trucks & Bones here.
